Ugh, I hate Baltimore.

This hits too close to home.

Particularly when friends work in that building. Thankfully, only one person has been hurt.

    I love how the article talks about putting in metal detectors. Even if that were possible at Hopkins (or any hospital) what good would it do?

    Obviously what Maryland needs to do is make it illegal to carry a firearm…..

    Hopkins sees 8k visitors a week. Eight. Thousand. Every week. Putting in metal detectors would be ridiculous.

    Besides, from what I understand the security people handled it VERY well. The guy was contained on the 8th floor – he didn't have a prayer of getting out without hopping out the (sealed) window. Sure, that doctor and his mother fell victim to his emotional outburst, but that's all…no one else got hurt. Frankly, that the situation was contained so quickly speaks volumes for the security team.
